Casas del Bosque continues its spate of 90+ point ratings with its decadent, highly polished 2019 Casas del Bosque Valle del Maipo Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon (91 Points – Vinous; 91 Points – James Suckling). Sporting a deep purple color and redolent with the savory scents of blackberry, strawberry, and raspberry, all nicely imbued with deft touches of dark chocolate and mint, the ebullient 2019 Casas del Bosque Valle del Maipo Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon had us at the first sniff. In the mouth, the wine reveals its elegance as well as its concentration with a delicious mélange of berry fruit, red pepper, dark chocolate, and spice. Ripe, well integrated tannins provide backbone and structure on which this balanced and complex Cabernet Sauvignon flows to a long vibrant finish. Although drinking beautifully now, the 2019 Casas del Bosque Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon will continue to improve in bottle and provide superb drinking pleasure for many years. For optimal enjoyment, we suggest affording Casas del Bosque’s 2019 Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon at least 20-30 minutes of aeration before serving at cool room temperature (60°-64° F). Anticipated maturity: 2023-2028. Enjoy!

Prime rib of beef au jus with organic Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and roasted green beans; herb encrusted beef tenderloin served with truffle fries and roasted Brussels sprouts; and wild boar served over tagliatelle pasta with sautéed vegetables all provide splendid accompaniments to Casas del Bosque’s delicious 2019 Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon. A North American specialty, bison, either as burgers or as a meatloaf, the latter a tasty combination of grass fed bison prepared with a mushroom demi-glaze and served with seasonal vegetables, also makes a wonderful accompaniment to the 2019 Casas del Bosque 2019 Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon.
