Carpineto’s 2021 Dogajolo Bianco mirrors the beauty and timeless charm of Tuscany. Grown on hillside vineyards under the central Tuscan sun, the 2021 Carpineto Dogajolo Toscano Bianco IGT (40% Chardonnay, 30% Grechetto, 30% Sauvignon Blanc) embodies the terroir from which it sprung, beginning with a glint and bright straw color. Ethereal, hauntingly beautiful aromatics beckon the eager taster to dive right in. Fresh and lively in the mouth, subtle apple and pear tones quickly emerge, followed by hints of melon and citrus, all of which are underlined by a pure racy minerality, the hallmark of the finest white wines of Tuscany. No smoke or mirrors, ponderous oak tones, or chemical stabilizations appear in Carpineto’s 2021 Dogajolo Toscano Bianco. This is a wine that embodies the simple elegance and timeless beauty of Tuscany. We invite you to taste the 2021 Carpineto Dogajolo Toscano Bianco IGT, an authentic Tuscan white. Enjoy the 2021 Dogajolo Toscano Bianco now and often, moderately chilled (40°-45° F). Anticipated maturity: 2022-2025. Enjoy!
The 2021 Carpineto Dogajolo Toscano Bianco IGT makes a splendid aperitif. The wine’s fresh mouth filling flavors and laser like precision enliven the senses and invite the taster to summon a second glass, but why settle for less when you can have more? Consider pairing the expressive 2021 Carpineto Dogajolo Toscano Bianco with fresh seafood, salads and poultry. Gravlax served with English cucumber, dill, cream cheese, capers, and red onion makes a splendid starter with this wine. Lightly grilled octopus or calamari served with a dipping sauce pairs beautifully, too. Flatbread pesto pizzas with shrimp or chicken also make excellent dinner companions to Carpineto’s 2021 Dogajolo Toscano Bianco. In a more substantial vein, Red Snapper in the company of roasted potatoes and fennel fronds provides a wonderful accompaniment. Roasted Quail with apple butter, shaved beetroot, and polenta makes a strong case for itself, too, and that may be cause for ordering a second bottle. This Dogajolo Bianco can also hold its own with spicy Asian dishes and much more. Buon Appetito!
Carpineto is the result of a vision to revolutionize Tuscan winemaking and to produce wines of international renown, a mission that consumers and critics alike have affirmed for more than five decades. Purchased from the Diocese of Florence in 1967 by Giovanni Carlo Sacchet and Antonio Mario Zaccheo in Greve at the heart of Chianti Classico, Carpineto shines as a paragon of excellence. Since its inception, Carpineto has spread its wings to nearby Montepulciano and Montalcino where they fashion exceptional, award winning Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino.
Fanatical in their love for the Tuscan soil and cutting edge technology, Sacchet and Zaccheo created what has become the benchmark for quality and consistency in Tuscany’s three most renowned DOCGs and throughout central Tuscany in the estate’s IGT wines. And, although the vast majority of Carpineto’s wines are red (95%) and more than half are aged for three years or more and are entitled to Riserva designation, Carpineto also fashions superb red and white Tuscan wines for near term drinking, including Carpineto’s highly touted 2021 Dogajolo Toscano Bianco IGT (this month’s feature). Dogajolo Bianco is a unique blend of three exceptional grape varieties (Chardonnay, Grechetto, and Sauvignon Blanc), all from hillside vineyards in central Tuscany. Dogajolo Bianco captures the essence of Tuscan white wine: elegance and purity in every sip.
